Kindness to parents

Article · Kindness in life and after death

﴿وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ إِحْسَانًا﴾“And to parents, good treatment”

Allah joined kindness to parents with His worship in His words: “And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him, and that you be good to your parents.” [Al-Isra 17:23] Wisal took its motto from this verse.

Among the deeds most beloved to Allah

The Prophet ﷺ was asked: Which deed is most beloved to Allah? He said: “Prayer at its proper time.” He was asked: Then what? He said: “Kindness to parents.” (Bukhari and Muslim)

Kindness does not end with death

Kindness continues through supplication and seeking forgiveness for them, and charity on their behalf. He ﷺ said: “The finest act of kindness is for a son to keep ties with his father's loved ones.” (Muslim)

Hajj and Umrah for your parents

A man said: O Messenger of Allah, my father is an old man who cannot perform Hajj or Umrah. He ﷺ said: “Perform Hajj and Umrah on behalf of your father.” (Abu Dawud and al-Tirmidhi, who graded it authentic)
